Many mobile networks are now giving away free sim cards. These cards are invariably on (PAYG) Pay As You go tariffs. The reason network providers give away free sim cards is simple, they want your business!

If you think about it, a SIM card does not really cost anything to produce and post out to you, on the flip side, your call charges may be quite expensive.

Even if you do not use the sim card frequently, the network provider has a good chance of recovering their money. Looking at the bigger picture, if a network provider ships 10,000 free sim cards then, even if only a minority of customers actually use them, they will make their money back, it is a no brainer!

Obtaining a free sim card is pretty, network providers are literally giving them away! You can check their sites directly, or look at some of the mobile phone comparison sites, which usually have an up to date list of the latest offers.

Not all providers give away sim’s at the same time, so, if you want one on a specific network you may have to wait for the next offer to come along, but do not worry, come along they will! If you cannot see an offer online, try calling the network to see if they will send you one.
