Orange has started trials of 20Mb broadband connections. The service has been made available to only select broadband customers, to test the performance of the new service, before a big nationwide launch later this year.

As usual, factors like line quality, destination distance from local exchange etc. are likely to affect the final speeds delivered, but the good thing is that this new faster connection will be available at the same package price as the 8Mb plan from Orange.

Orange has also setup a specially built microsite for users of this trial service. Here the trial users can report problems faced and contact a support team specially trained for the new service. The company is also planning to use the microsite as a medium to inform the users of any new developments related to the service.

The date for the full-scale launch has not been decided yet but there is a high probability that Orange customers will be able to opt for this super-fast broadband service sometime later this year.

Director of broadband and home, Orange UK, Asif Aziz said that this new trial launch is an important step for the company in the direction of advancement of the broadband services for its customers. Mr. Aziz also said that Orange is constantly aiming at making its services more reliable and user friendly.
